Bloggers must pay close attention to the topics they choose to write about. This is the only way to attract and retain subscribers.
Smart bloggers plan ahead, indicating what topic they'll be talking about in the next few months or two, or even longer. Ideally, the information shared by bloggers is cumulative. In other words, each blog post builds on the knowledge imparted in previous blog posts.
One method of achieving long-term planning and logical progression of information on your blog is what I call the "Blogging eBook Strategy". It is a simple concept but it works very well.
Is that how it works. Describe a complete eBook on the topic you plan to blog about. Every good book is organized to gradually increase the reader's understanding of your topic.
Write the table of contents with this in mind. Then write the components of each chapter. Each component represents an individual blog post. When you're done with all the blog posts that make up the book, you just need to republish the accumulated copy as an ebook. Some people call this "redirect" their content.
Just put together the blog posts you have written and then organize them into chapters, that's fine because you already described them at the beginning of this process. Format the pages to make them attractive and readable and convert them into a PDF file. Ready! You are ready to market your eBook.
Electronic books are typically shorter than paper books, ranging from 80 to 120 pages, and are generally free and used to demonstrate proficiency in the author's area of expertise. They are often used to entice you to subscribe to a blog or newsletter, or to subscribe to a website, webinar, conference, etc. There is a site called ebooks.com that sells e-books in a variety of categories, including business, computers, and exercise.
Once you have completed your first ebook, you can plot the next one. For example, a recruiting company representing both employers and employees could write its first e-book for job seekers (especially given the current work climate) and focus on the things they need to do. to be viable and marketable to the best employers. The second ebook could be written for employers and focus on the best way to find, evaluate and assimilate the talented people they need. A different lens for different audiences.
The downside of this one-to-one strategy means that you would write a long series of blog posts intended only for job seekers, followed by a long series of articles intended for employers. This is not a formula to retain subscribers.
The problem can be solved by programming both books from scratch and publishing alternative publications, one for job applicants and one for employers, until you have the full content of both e-books. . Then you can publish them simultaneously. So you're serving both audiences simultaneously by posting perhaps one blog post per week targeting jobseekers and a second post this week targeting employers.
Another alternative is to write separate blogs for your different audiences. Some companies have more than two audiences and publish many blogs for internal and external audiences.
It depends on your business. It depends on your objective. Any company must take advantage of its strengths and components.
Either way, consider the ebook blogging strategy. It will give you an organized blogging strategy and create products that can promote your business.
